Oct 27, 2005 (newstodate): Effective from November 1, British Airways World Cargo has anounced a major upgrade and expansion of its European Shorthaul Freighter program.
Adding two new hubs - Stockholm Arlanda and Amsterdam, and replacing current Boeing 757 services with A300F services, the network will see the current schedule of 10 weekly wide-body services to seven European destinations expand to 20 weekly services to 11 destinations, including also four new stops at Oporto.
The replacement by Airbus A300 freighters of the current Boeing 757 freighter services entails greater capacity and elimination of the need for special contour pallets, which enhances easy transfer to the carrier`s longhaul passenger and freighter flights.
