Oct 14, 2005 (newstodate): The Faroese airline Atlantic Airways is expanding its aircraft fleet with a fifth BAe 146 aircraft.
The new aircraft, formerly operated by SWISS, is a BAe 146-100, which is larger and offers also more cargo capacity than the other aircraft on the roster that are -200 versions.
The new aircraft, the fourth fully-owned, is expected to enter service with Atlantic Airways from early November.
In the meantime the airline is already evaluating a replacement to the BAe 146, now out of production, with Airbus A319, Boeing 737-700 and Embraer 190 as the viable candidates.
The current planning call for a decision to be made within two or three years, according to the carrier's CEO, Magni Arge.
