JAN 05, 2005 (newstodate): Estonia Air has today announced the immediate replacement of its current chairman of the board, Erki Urva.
As a temporary solution, the position has been taken up by Borge Thornbech, who served as Estonian Air CEO after the airline's privatisation in 1996-2000.
-Despite the presumably profitable year 2004, the expectations of the Supervisory Board of Estonian Air have been higher, and taking into account considerably increased competitive pressure in the very demanding business area, the members of the company's Supervisory Board deemed renewal of the management necessary, the company says.
Estonian Air is owned by SAS Group, 49 percent, the Estonian state, 34 percent, and AS
Cresco, 17 percent.
