JAN 17, 2005 (newstodate): Copenhagen Air Logistics A/S has completed the airlift of a mobile hospital for the Japanese Red Cross.
The hospital was produced by Norwegian medical equipment company Normeca International that also takes responsibility for 24-hours logistics solutions.
-Originally an ambulance was planned to go with the hospital from Narita to Sumatra, Indonesia, and this would have required an IL-76 operation, says Standley Bundgaard, Copenhagen Air Logistics A/S general manager.
-Eventually the ambulance was withdrawn from the project, and instead the hospital was transported by an AN-12, he says.
