JAN 12, 2005 (newstodate): Slot allocation at Warsaw Airport's Etiuda terminal has come under strong attck from easyjet and SkyEurope.
The LOT-emplyed slot coordinator at Warsaw Airport intends to retrieve historical slots from all existing operators at the Etiuda terminal currently easyJet, Germanwings, SkyEurope and Wizz Air to reallocate them in a lottery.
-Such a lottery would jeopardize the integrity of the existing carriers' operation, since they already published their summer 2005 schedule, which have been approved by the Polish Airports' State Enterprise, says SkyEurope in a joint statement with easyJet.
-This unfair practice of LOT Polish Airlines threatens PPL's reliability as the airport authority. We are glad to compete on commercial terms with LOT and Centralwings, but expect them to respect EU Regulations. We appeal to the Polish Civil Aviation Authority to urgently solve this matter, says Christian Mandl, SkyEurope Airlines CEO.
