JAN 21, 2005 (newstodate): Atlantic Airways is preparing for a major increase in the coming summers schedule.
During the period June 25 to August 13 the airline will operate a weekly flight from Aalborg to the Faroe Islands, while operating three to four times daily from Copenhagen to Vagar, and once daily from Billund to Vagar.
From May 15 to September 25 the airline wlil fly twice weekly from Vagar to London, and Atlantic Airways will also operate twice weekly from Vagar to Oslo and Aberdeen, and three times weekly to Reykjavik, Iceland.
The airline is thus positioning itself firmly in the market after the pullout by Maersk Air last year, while strengthening itself against potential competition from Danish airline DAT that is currently evaluating results from its Christmas test operations before making a final commitment to serving the market.
