JAN 17, 2005 (newstodate): Armavia, owned by Russian airline Sibir, has suspended its weekend flights between Eyrevan and Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris.
The abrupt decision follows only a short time after the airline obtained exclusive rights for the routes from the Armenian government.
Until they expired in December, 2004, the traffic rights were held by the privately-owned Armenian International Airways.
Armavia now maintains only its mid-week Paris flights.
