JAN 06, 2005 (newstodate): New Bulgarian budget travel company imagine air, headed by now-defunct bexx air founder Dirk Wiesemann, is preparing to launch operations from this year's second quarter.
The company has shortlisted eight airlines, including Bulgarian and foreign companies, to compete for a tender worth 10 million Bulgarian lev.
imagine air expects to fly more than 70,000 passengers in its first year of operations.
The bidders will have two weeks to present their offer, and the winning airline will provide imagine air with aircraft and cockpit crew.
imagine air is founded by a group of German and Polish investors.
Its predecessor, bexx air, is still in a legal fight with Bulgarian authorities that closed down the company on allegations of lack of permits and documentation.
