SEP 07, 2004 (newstodate): Cargolux is heaping praise from the Zambia Export Growers Association for its cargo service from Zambia to Luxembourg, bringing flowers and vegetables into the EU markets.
Cargolux started operations into Zambia on May 28 after six months of negotiations resulting in a temporary air service agreement ynder which Cargolux will provide 40 tonnes of cargo capacity once a week every Saturday up to October, expanding to two flights to cope with the seasonal demands.
An application for a regular air service permit is now being handled by the authorities.
The association also holds agreements for cargo uplift with British Airways World Cargo, MK and DAS Air, but expects the new contract with Cargolux to significantly boost the country's sales potentials in the EU market for perishables.
