SEP 23, 2004 (newstodate): The inauguration day for Sofia Airport's new terminal remains August 31, 2005 as earlier decided.
Much confusion arose when a quarrel broke out between contractor and subcontractors in the large project to build a new terminal replacing the current 63-years old one at Bulgaria's capital airport.
The ministry of transportation has therefore stepped in to assure of the opening date.
The new terminal, meeting EU's requirements for passenger service and border controls, will have an annual capacity of 2.5 million passsengers and a peak-hour capacity of 2,000 passengers.
