SEP 17, 2004 (newstodate): Worldwide Flight Services has decided to carry through a new branding under the name of WFS, the company announced yesterday at the ACF in Bilbao.
So far the company has carried out its global activities under individual names in various markets, including also SFS.
The company will continue to maintain a strong focus on cargo handling in Asian airports, as with the JV with Bangkok Airways concerinng cargo and ramp handling at the new Bangkok Int'l Airport to open next year.
-We will, however, also keep a close eye on developments in Eastern and Central Europe, and especially in marketsi ncluding Poland, the Czech republic and Hungary we see attractive business potentials, says Barry Nassberg, WFS exec VP.
Refusing to disclose concrete destinations, the company also indicated some major news "in the near future".
Under the name of SFS, the company was earlier mentioned as a potential bidder for cargo handling services at Copenhagen Airport where SAS Cargo has reigned supreme since the demise of its competitor Novia.
