SEP 13, 2004 (newstodate): From September 15, Ukraine international Airlines Cargo plans to add a third frequency on the freighter route between Kiev and Vienna.
The route is operated with AN-12 aircraft with 14 tonnes cargo capacity.
The first scheduled freighter flight on the Kyiv-Vienna route was launched in November 2003, organized jointly by Ukraine International Airlines and Austrian Airlines. From May 2004 UIA added a second frequency.
-Reservations on the flight demonstrate high demand and the need for bigger capacity. Therefore we are planning for an increase now and looking at the possibility of introduction the fourth weekly frequency in early 2005, says Peter Kuharchuk, UIA Director Cargo.
The volume of cargo on Ukraine International for the first seven month of 2004 increased by over 30 percent compared with the same period of 2003.In total the airline carried 2,900 tonnes of cargo during the period.
