SEP 08, 2004 (newstodate): In August, Finnair Cargo saw its cargo traffic up by 31.8 percent in terms of cargo tonnes carried, and an over-all cargo load factor at 58.2 percent.
Growth in scheduled traffic was 19.7 percent, not least driven by an increase in the Asian traffic by 40.9 percent, resulting in a cargo load factor was 71.5 percent.
Cargo volumes of the European traffic increased by 9.0 percent, while the volume growth in the North-Atlantic traffic was only 0.4 percent resulting in a cargo load factor at 69.2 percent.
Most spectacular was the increase in cargo traffic carried on chartered cargo flights with Emirates SkyCargo, which increased by more than 500 percent.
