SEP 22, 2004 (newstodate): Moscow Domodedovo Airport is seeing strong growth in this year's cargo volumes, raising high hopes for year-end totals.
-During the period January-August, cargo traffic at Domodedovo exceeded 131,000 tonnes, with international cargo volumes representing a 45 percent growth compared to last year, says an East Line press service spokeswoman.
-Over the last two years, Domodedovo Airport's share of Moscow's total cargo volumes increased from 52 percent in 2002 to 55.4 percent in 2003.
The airport expects this year's total cargo volume to reach some 180,000 tonnes, securing a 55-60 percent share of Moscow airports' total volumes in 2004.
