SEP 27, 2004 (newstodate): The Bulgarian ministry of transport and communications vehemently refutes any "hidden agenda" in closing down BEXX operations.
The now defunct BEXX Air Express Company that marketed and sold budget fare tickects to German and Belgian destinations in the Bulgarian market, is owned by German natiional Dirk Wiseman that now reportedly runs the company from an internet cafe in Sofia after police closed and seized the office premises.
The Bulgarian ministry says that BEXX did not hold an AOC entitling it to perform commer flights, and also was not entered in the register of licensed tour operators and tourist agents in Bulgaria.
-We were extremely perplexed when Mr Dirk Wiseman initiated an intense media campaign of accusations to the Bulgarian State and Bulgarian Administration for the damages he and his passengers suffered, the ministry says in a statement.
-We are of the opinion that by violating the laws which are in force on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria this company registered under the Bulgarian Trade Law causes damages both to the consumers and to the loyal airline companies, tour operators and tourist agents. Mr Wiseman not only demonstrates disrespect to the legal order in our country but also inflicts harms to the image of Bulgaria, the message reads.
