SEP 07, 2004 (newstodate): AF Cargo, KLM Cargo report continued progress in air cargo during August.
Combined, the two companies' cargo traffic grew by 6.8 percent, but as capacity was up 8.2 percent, load factors declined by 0.8 percentage points to 64.3 percent.
Air France Cargo's traffic was up 10 percent, on a par with capacity, resulting in an unchanged load factor at 58.4 percent.
KLM Cargo's traffic increased by 3.3 percent, but capacity grew by 5.6 percent, not least due top the introduction of its third Boeing 747-400F freighter on the Asian routes. This drove the cargo load factor down 1.6 percentage points to 73.0 percentage.
