AUG 16, 2004 (newstodate): From September, Lufthansa Cargo will increase its freight capacity to and from Toyko.
So far the company and JALCargo have each operated two-way services thrice weekly on the Frankfurt Tokyo route.
Under a joint-venture agreement, the two partners allow each other freight capacity on their own flights.
From September 2, JALCargo will add two additional freighter services weekly, operated by a Boeing 747-200F from Tokyo Narita airport through Anchorage/Alaska to Frankfurt and back.
28 tonnes will be available initially to Lufthansa Cargo and, from March 2005, half the freight capacity of about 45 tonnes.
