AUG 05, 2004 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo was badly affected by a production halt at Helsinki Vantaa Airport on Wednesday, but the company hopes to have all shipments on the move during the day.
The problems were created by a labor action among loading and ground equipment maintenance staff of Northport Oy, Finnair's new ground handling company.
-We experienced a lot of problems during Wednesday, and this still affects cargo for Copenhagen and Frankfurt, among other stations, says Finnair Cargo's duty manager.
According to the duty manager, Osaka was also much affected while other longhaul flights fared comparatively better.
Finnair Cargo expects most of the delays in cargo handling to be overcome during the day, with production back to normal "very soon".
