AUG 05, 2004 (newstodate): Since May, Danish in-night logistics provider DAN'X has been cooperating with German budget airline V Bird's daily flights into Copenhagen.
DAN'X originally planned to set up an own traffic system from Paderborn to Jonkoping, Sweden, together with an unnamed small aircraft operator.
-As we learned that V Bird was to start flights into Scandinavia from Niederrhein near Dusseldorf, which is one of our major customer bases, we decided to approach them to set up a cooperation, says Bob Thorhauge, DAN'X managing director.
According to Mr Thorhauge, V Bird operates a late-evening Airbus A320 flight into Copenhagen, allowing DAN'X to distribute shipments via an own trucking system to destinations in Denmark, Sweden and Norway for delivery early in the morning next day.
-Cooperating with an airline rather than settting up an own traffic system has saved us much costs, reduced risk and responsibility, and facilitated a much faster development than originally planned, says Bob Thorhauge.
