AUG 31, 2004 (newstodate): Aeroflot is strengthening its position in the Ural market, increasing its flight connections with Moscow.
Thus Aeroflot has increased flights on the Moscow-Chelyabinsk-Moscow route up to five flights per week since August 23.
Ural region is among the top priorities in Aeroflot's strategy on developing its role in domestic air transportation.
Operating into Chelyabinsk, the capital of South Ural, since September 1, 2000, Aeroflot in 2003 upped passenger volumes by 13 percent to 8,815 passengers, and freight by 90 percent to 31 tonnes, compared to the preceding year.
In July, Aeroflot lifted 776 passenger on the route, in addition to 4.4 tonnes of air cargo.
