AUG 30, 2004 (newstodate): After a period of decentralisation in Russian civil aviation, Aeroflot has now decided on a new strategy to regain its position in the Russian and CIS markets.
The strategy builds on acquisition of independent airlines, especially in the Volga, Siberia and Samara regions.
Aeroflot has already announced its decision to take over Archangelsk Airlines and is reportedly also eyeing Georgian Airlines.
