JUL 23, 2004 (newstodate): Slovak budget airline SkyEurope has now secured fundings for its planned expansion.
The EUR10 million injection from European equity funds will allow the airline to incrase the number of aircraft in the fleet from the current 13 to "at least" 32 in the coming years, enabling the airline to lift more than five million passengers by 2007.
In 2003, the airline transported a total of 171,410 passengers, and strong growth is plannned for this year via hubs at Bratislava, Warsaw and Budapest.
SkyEurope is a staunch Boeing customer, operating Boeing 737 aircraft.
