JUL 29, 2004 (newstodate): Operative since May this year, Kales Airline Services' new office in Vilnius, Lithuania has secured cooperation with Lithuanian Airlines and Air Lithuania.
-We are finalising cargo interline agreements with these airlines and the airlines already represented by Kales, but cooperation has actually already started as both Lithuanian carriers now accept shipments on AWBs from other Kales-airlines to a wide range of European destinations, says Audrius Lukosevicius, Kales Airline Service Lithuania.
Lithuanian Airlines operates out of Vilnius, while Air Lithuania operates international flights out of Palanga Airport at the Baltic coast.
-With one day's trucking between the Baltic coast and Vilnius it represents a major benefit to have the option now of handling Lithuanian export shipments directly out of either airport, says Mr Lukosevicius.
Focussing on Lithuanian exports, Mr Lukosecivius however also sees prospects for Kales at Lithuania by handling Lithuanian air cargo imports on airlines represented by Kales' international network.
