JUL 21, 2004 (newstodate): Dublin-based cargo GSA IAM has reported a growth of 13 percent in traffic for the first quarter of 2004 compared to the same period in 2003.
Member of EGSAC, IAM now holds a share of 14 percent of all air cargo exports from Ireland.
Against a backdrop of falling exports due to the migration of some high-tech manufacturing to lower-cost locations (16 percent decrease in total exports from Ireland in 2003 v. 2002), IAM's performance was initially bouyed up by successfully increasing market share for the twelve carriers it represents.
Now, the beginnings of a surge in pharmaceuticals manufacturing has created further air cargo traffic, contributing a large proportion of IAM's growth.
IAM's portfolio includes American Airlines, Air Canada, MNG, Nippon Cargo Airlines, China Airlines, Austrian Airlines, and South African Cargo.
