JUN 03, 2004 (newstodate): Transnautic, providing cargo GSA services to Latvian carrier airBaltic in Germany, is facing increased business potentials.
Air Baltic has now started four-times-weekly services from Vilnius, Lithuania,to Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne, operating 737-500 aircraft with 2,000 kg cargo capacity.
In August, the airline will further strengthen its services to and from Germany with the addition of services between Riga, Latvia and Cologne operating Avro jet aircraft offering a cargo capacity of 1,200 kg.
-airBaltic has already operated daily AVRO-JETs from Riga to Hamburg and Berlin since April 2003, and these services have gained a positive response in the market, says Hans-Martin
Sturz, Transnautic.
-We do not sell only Riga. Air Baltic's base is fast developing as an efficient transit hub for
Tallinn, Minsk, Kiev, Warsaw, Helsinki, Prague and Stockholm, he says.
-Due to growing traffic levels to Minsk, additional road feeders have been introduced from Riga, and further services may be added operating directly from Germany.
