JUN 07, 2004 (newstodate): The Eastline Group is planning a range of customer-oriented technology upgrades at its Domodedovo Cargo Terminal.
Currently in the pipeline is bar coding and radio control of shipments, enabling automated match of shipments and documents. These facilities will be introduced "in the nearest future", the company says.
Already implemented is an information kiosk in the cargo terminal, enabling clients to obtain necessary references on the terminal services and the airport's flight schedule as well as to track the status of their cargo shipments.
Domodedovo Cargo Terminal is also planning to introduce a new website with facilities enabling customers to fill in documents on-line, calculate delivery rates, and track and trace their shipments.
Domodedovo Cargo Terminal, in operation since 1997, has a cargo handling capacity of 1,300 tonnes per day.
