JUN 22, 2004 (newstodate): Sharjah-based Rus Aviation is seeing brisk business in the cargo market, including cargo flights to Iraq and Afghanistan.
-We operate two or three flights every day into Iraq, as even if the operation is quite demanding it works smoothly as long as you comply with the regulations put down by the Coalition Forces, says Hussam Namou, Rus Aviation manager.
Rus Aviation is also active in the African markets, flying shipments into the region and bringing back African perishables including fresh Tanganyika fisk to European markets.
-Our five IL-76 freighters are hush-kitted and thus allowed to operate freely in compliance with the EU noise regulations, he says.
With bases in Sharjah, Syria, Moscow and Kyrgyzstan, Rus Aviation also operates two AN-12 freighters, and is currently preparing to take in a sixth IL-76 as required by a new contract coming in.
