JUN 08, 2004 (newstodate): As part of process of returning sovereignty to Iraq, Iraqi ATC controllers have now taken back responsibility for civil air transport operations at Baghdad Airport.
Since 2003, this responsibility rested with Australian armed forces.

Full soverignty is expected to be handed over to Iraq later this year, depending on the security situation.
