JUN 18, 2004 (newstodate): Swedish regional airport Orebro is seeing a sustained strong development in air cargo operations.
-So far this year we have had more than 100 cargo charter flights with aircraft of all types, says Haakan Nilsson, Orebro Airport cargo manager.
-Most of the operations have been driven by Ericsson exports to Russia and the CIS countries, but we have also had a significant number of charters for the Swedish military due to the participation in many UN missions around the world, he says.
Despite a brish outlook for this year, Nilsson does not, however, hope for last year's records to be broken.
-2003 was remarkable due to some 150 cargo charter flights for Volvo that we are not likely to see again, says Haakan Nilsson.
Among the cargo aircraft at Orebro, IL-76 is still frequently seen, but less often than earlier despite the regional authorities' lenient handling of requests for commercial operations.
