JUN 24, 2004 (newstodate): Norway's CAA, Avinor has published a tender for approach lighting systems at five regional airports.
The five airports Kristiansund, Forde, Sandane, Sogndal og Orsta-Volda will have their existing approach lighting systems renovated, changing to low-mass poles according to ICAO Annex 14.
While the four airports will be equipped with simple approach lighting, the airport of Kristiansund will be equipped with precision apporach lighting systems in addition to the ILS already installed.
The airports currently operate under an exemption expiring by December 31, 2003, so the work will be completed before this date, an Avinor spokeswoman says.
