JUN 09, 2004 (newstodate): The deal between Emirates SkyCargo and Envirotainer to provide network-wide access to cool containers builds on demanding logistics.
-So far we are located with own operations at some 50 percent of Emirates' destinations, and there it has been quite easy to provide fast services, says Martin Peter, Envirotainer global marketing director.
-At these destinations we operate own logistics, repairs, stocks and handling. At all other destinations we rely on cooperation with customers to secure that the equipment requested is positioned and returned.
-With the contract we will go deeper into a joint market forecasting in order to prepare for changes and increases in demands at all destinations served by Emirates, to ensure the timely availability of our containers, he says.
While Envirotainer does not publish exact figures on the number of container in circulation, Martin Peter says it runs "into the thousands".
