JUN 28, 2004 (newstodate): During its recent AGM, the Arab Civil Aviation Commission has decided to work for increased liberalisation, and to set up a joint negotiation body.
The drive for libralisation will be based on existing bilateral agreements amongst the Arab states, but will open up for other interested Arab states to join from 2007.
The negotiation body will seek to enhance Arab member states' negotiationg power in dealings with similar bodies from other countries.
A meeting at civil aviation ministerial level will be convened by October in order to sign the agreement on a negotiation body.
