MAY 27, 2004 (newstodate): Operating two leased ATR 42-300 aircraft, privately-owned Bulgarian carrier Viaggio Air currently offers flights from Sofia to Vienna and Istanbul.
Vienna is served four times weekly, while Istanbul is served three times per week.
So far the airline, registered in September, 2002 in Sofia, serves only scheduled routes under bi-lateral agreements between Bulgaria and Austria and Turkey, but new routes are in the pipeline.
Thus on May 25, the airline was designated by the Bulgarian ministry council to start up a new route between Sofia and Kiev, offering three weekly rotations on the route.
