MAY 11, 2004 (newstodate): Traxon has secured a unique position by being designated as the only notified electronic service provider to Indian Customs.
This means that in order to comply with the Indian Air AMS regulations, taking effect from May 14, 2004, freight forwarders and airlines must sign up with Traxon India that will thus hold a virtual monopoly as to the electronic transfer of shipments data before their arrival in India.
So far other countries that have introduced Air AMS measures have left it to the market players to decide which electronic channels to use.
