MAY 05, 2004 (newstodate): The new once-weekly FedEx flight from Evenes, Norway, to Narita via Anchorage has proved an early success.
-We have landed a contract with a Norwegian exporter of fresh salmon to Japan, and he takes the full capacity available, or some 20 tonnes, on the MD-11F, says Terje Dybvik, Nord-Norsk Spedisjon that has negoatiated the deal.
Mr Dybvik says the company is now working on attracting some of the cargo capacity available in the European market to Northern Norway.
On another project, the dedicated freighter service from Kallax Airport to the Far East, prospects are bright, too, he says.
-We are still working hard on this project, and major progress has been made lately. We still expect the project to materialise within this year, says Terje Dybvik.
