MAY 05, 2004 (newstodate): Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo have become the first carriers to fuel aircraft with Lukoil's new Jet A-1 fuel.
The new Russian jet fuel that complies with ISO and other standards is produced at Lukoil's plants at Nizniy Novgorod where Lufthansa operates thrice weekly, while Lufthansa Cargo uses the airport for re-fuelling on its MD-11F flights for SAS Cargo, Lufthansa Cargo and Japan Airlines from Gothenburg to Japan.
Lukoil plans plans to provide its Jet A-1 fuel to other airlines operating at Moscow's Sheremetyevo-2 and Vnukovo airports, while production of the fuel will sonn also be tested at other Lukoil refineries.
