MAY 05, 2004 (newstodate): During this year's Q1, Lithuanian Airlines saw its passenger volumes up by 13.5 percent, to 62,986 passengers.
The positive trend is expected to be sustained during this summer as the airline adds new routes to Madrid and Barcelona via Frankfurt and Brussels under a code-share agreement with Iberia.
The airline also plans to increase weekly flights from six to eleven on its route between Vilnius and Moscow, code-shared with Aeroflot as this airline pulls out from Vilnius due to lack of aircraft complying with the EU noise regulations now in place after Lithuania's accession into the EU.
In total, the airline expects a 20 percent increase in this year's passenger volumes compared to last year.
