MAY 10, 2004 (newstodate): Boeing hopes to have as many as 500 firm orders for the 7E7 Dreamliner before its first flight.
Speaking at the ongoing 7E7 road show that has now hit the Middle East, a top Boeing marketing official said he hopes to land "some orders" from the region within the next 12 months.
Over the next 20 years, airlines in the region will take delivery of 790 airplanes at a value of USD 81 billion. The majority, 56 per cent by value, will be in twin aisle airplanes such as the 777 and 7E7, according to Boeing.
