MAY 05, 2004 (newstodate): Latvian carrier airBaltic has taken in its third Boeing 737-500 aircraft, now already in service with the airline.
A LoI has been signed for acquisition of a fourth aircraft of the same type.
airBaltic now operates a fleet comprising four Boeing 737-500, three AVRO RJ70, and six Fokker F50, enabling the airline to operate a total of 28 routes, nine of which out of neighbouring Baltic country, Lithuania.
The airline's Fokker F50 are currently used on routes to Helsinki, Oslo, Warsaw and Vienna, but they will gradually be retired to be replaced by AVRO aircraft on these routes.
