APR 14, 2004 (newstodate): According to a Chinese news agency, May 1 will see the announcement of a bilateral agreement between Lufthansa and Shanghai Airlines.
The coming agreement will comprise code-sharing of routes, and a coordination of frequent flyer programs.
Initially three Shanghai Airlines domestic flights from Shanghai to Beijing, Shanghai to Shenzhen, and Shanghai to Qingdao will be code-shared.
Shanghai Airlines is also reported to have applied for rights to start international flights to Germany, a segment now dominated by the three major Chinese aviation groups Air China, China Eastern Airlines Co Ltd, and China Southern Airlines Co Ltd.
