APR 28, 2004 (newstodate): US regional carrier Castle Aviation has taken over its first SAAB 340 converted cargo plane, becoming the program's launch customers.
-The Saab will fit in a unique role between the Falcon 20 and Convair 580 and allow an operator to play an economical ad-hoc role to the cargo industry, says Michael Grossmann, Castle Aviation President.
Saab Aircraft Leasing manages a portfolio of 289 Saab 340 and Saab 2000 aircraft leased to 25 customers in 13 countries.
The converted SAAB 340 has a maximum payload of 3,850 kilo.
