APR 01, 2004 (newstodate): With the opening at Copenhagen Airport of new routes to Ankara, Beirut, Malta, Skopje and Split by SAS snowflake this week, the airport's proportion of budget airlines' traffic volume raises further.
For 2003, the proportion of traffic volumes held by low-cost operators was 6.5 percent, and through January it has risen further to 8.2 percent.
Budget airlines at Copenhagen Airport include EasyJet, Sterling, Snowflake, Virgin, Iceland Express, Nordic Airlink, V-Bird, and Basiq Air, with Sterling topping the list as to number of destinations, 15, followed by snowflake with 13 destinations.
