MAR 22, 2004 (newstodate): The CAA of the Ujnited Arab Emirates is intent on getting to grips with the problem of overloaded aircraft.
In the UAE, all international airports are equipped with radars to detect overloaded aerocraft taking off as they deviate from the climb pattern of aircraft within load limits.
Special equipment has also been installed at all UAE international airports to detect overloaded planes by monitoring their exhaust gases. Excessive gas exhausts indicate that pilots are using excessive power to compensate for the heavy load.
The CAA of UAE is now preparing a draft regulation to cope with the problem.
