MAR 22, 2004 (newstodate): SR Technics Group has landed a major contract with easyJet for maintenance of the airline's expanding Airbus fleet.
Under the 12 months full-service contract, SR
Technics will assume technical responsibility for the next 27 aircraft of easyJet's growing Airbus A319 fleet in addition to the initial
five Geneva-based aircraft.
The maintenance programme, and all the accompanying materials, logistics and the overall technical responsibility will all be
managed from SR Technics' Zurich head office.
Since easyJet will be operating the new aircraft from various destinations throughout its Europe-wide network, the actual maintenance work will be performed at a number of these airports by easyTech, the easyJet/FLS Aerospace technical services joint venture.
-We are currently conducting a long-term strategic maintenance review to cover each and every aspect of our maintenance operation. This is likely to come to fruition within the next 12 months. At this point, easyJet will expect to be able to announce its long-term maintenance plans and put in place the relevant partnerships to provide a world-class service at a competitive price, says Ed Winter, easyJet CEO.
