MAR 04, 2004 (newstodate) Following the opening from March 28 of the SAS route to Shanghai, SAS Cargo increases its weekly cargo capacity from Scandinavia to China by about 100 tonnes.
SAS Cargo offers already cargo capacity non-stop to China via Beijing with Airbus 340 and Hong Kong with an MD-11 freighter. The rest of Asia is serviced through non-stop SAS routes to Tokyo, Bangkok and Singapore with Airbus 340s or a MD-11 freighter to Osaka.
In January IATA carriers lifted a total of 65.4 tonnes of airfreight to Shanghai out of Denmark, in addition to 258.6 tonnes out of Sweden, and 175.1 tonnes out of Norway.
