MAR 26, 2004 (newstodate): Lithuanian Airlines will operate a leased ATR-42 on its route between Vilnius and Moscow from this summer's program.
So far the route has been operated with SAAB 2000 aircraft, but after the decision by Aeroflot to withdraw its own services and enter a code-share agreement with Lithuanian Airlines instead, more capacity is needed on the route than provided by the SAAB 2000.
The aircraft will be leased from Air Lithuania.
The airline currently operates a fleet comprising two Boeing 737-200, two Boeing 737-500 and three Saab-2000 aircraft, but the future fate of the SAAB aircraft is now being evaluated.
