MAR 30, 2004 (newstodate): Russian airline KrasAir is reported to set up a new hub at the Novosibirsk Tolmatchevo Airport.
The decision follows the permission for the airline to open a new route from Krasnoyarsk to the Novosibirsk.
Ad earlier reported, KrasAir will also consider a second hub at Samara Kurumoch Airport as part of the airline's drive to enhance its share of the domestic market.
The move stiffens competition in the Russian market for domestic air transport, where Siberia Airlines is now the country's single largest provider.
Aeroflot is also taking steps to win back it former dominant position, and aims at recapturing 40 percent of the market as more capacity is freed for the purpose.
