MAR 23, 2004 (newstodate): Since March, Iberia has extended its cooperation with Traxon to include the markets of Mexico, South Africa, the United States, and Italy.
Other markets including Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and France have already been covered by earlier contracts.
Traxon facilitates the exchange of electronic tracking messages, including AWBs, FWBs, and FSUs, and Iberia Cargo is also considering extending the arrangements further to include use of Traxons electronic booking system, and will soon use additional services of transmission of duplicate AWBs to ground distribution services.
Traxon Europe was founded in 1991 as a joint venture of Air France and Lufthansa, to supply information and tracking services to logistics firms airlines, freight agents, customs agents, and shipping and distribution companies. Its clients include 80 airlines and 8,000 freight agents. In 2003 it handled a total of 51 million messages.
