MAR 31, 2004 (newstodate): Hungarys export air cargo volumes are estimated to grow by 6.8 percent annually during the period 2003-2009, according to an analysis institute.
In 2003, Hungary aggregated a total of 34,400 tonnes of export airfreight, and this will reach 37,021 tonnes in 2004, and 51,165 tonnes by the end of the period.
In 2003, 36.2 percent, or 15.452 tonnes, of the countrys export airfreight was destined for the North Atlantic region, followed by 28.1 percent, or 9,682 tonnes for Europe, and 14.0 percent, or 4,810 tonnes destined for Asia/Pacific.
According to the analysis produced for Lufthansa Cargo, Hungary claims the highest export airfreight growth rate during the period among the countries surveyed, which includes the Nordic, Baltic and a number of East European markets.
