MAR 11, 2004 (newstodate): Coyne Airways' unique Baghdad-service, Direct2Iraq reports good results since the launch on January 15.
The twice-weekly flights are operated with An-12 or IL-76 aircraft out of Dubai.
-The flight have worked very well. We are able to get freight turned around in Dubai within 24 hours and can put on flights for individual loads as small as eight tonnes, says Larry Coyne, Coyne Airways CEO.
-So far we have had no delays, lost or damaged cargo and we are able to give PODs within a few hours of arrival in BGW, he says.
-We are offering full liability cover insurance on all shipments while cargo is in our control, no matter how damage is caused including hostile action. We now see frequency building as we link into freighter services from European and US carriers, says Larry Coyne.
Services offered by Direct2Iraq comprise the options offloaded to the tarmac, placed in an airport warehouse, placed in a warehouse in Baghdad, or even delivery to the customer.
